about

Making music can be pure inspiration. It can also be hard work. And other times, you're not creating the music, only discovering it.
You sit down at the piano and it's just there.
It doesn't just come to you; you have to go somewhere and explore it, note by note. You approach it like an archeologist. You find small snippets of melody, you combine harmonies. You turn stones, dig through the unknown and brush off dust to bring the music to light. You make the arrangements, but the music itself is already there, just waiting to be discovered. And then: uncovered.
These little tunes are such discoveries. They might be small (pieces of pottery rather than the gardens of Babylon), but it’s always a great pleasure to find them. They could just as well have remained undiscovered for a thousand years more, before some day, for sure, someone else would have found them.
Once discovered, I think they deserve to be kept. That's why I put them in a museum, which is this record.

about

Snorre Berlin, Germany

Norwegian composer Snorre creates music out of genres. Inspirations from classical, jazz and minimal music blend into a timeless sound. Although free from intellectual gravity, it reveals a complex depth and emotional profundity that leaves few people untouched.

His debut album Imaginary Places is a collection of pieces for solo piano, which may be characterized as neoclassical.
